Arteviva Tessitura a Mano is Liviana Di Giusto’s craft workshop.
The atelier was founded in 1980 and is located in Udine: in this space with a truly evocative atmosphere, Liviana and her associate Elena Sanguankeo work on antique low and high heald wooden looms, hand-crafting home decors and garments such as rugs, pillows, shawls and scarves, as well as tapestries and contemporary artworks, installations and textile paintings and sculptures.
For many years now Liviana has been researching materials and fabrics: thanks to her long experience in weaving and her profound knowledge of the techniques of the trade, she is able to design and create any object, weaving warps and wefts. Threads are thus skilfully combined to give life to truly original creations for hanging, framing or wearing. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and stands out for its sophisticated and contemporary design.

Liviana's workshop is a magical place: the most astonishing thing is how wooden looms, so 'monotonous' in their movements, manage to create fabric sculptures that are alive and dynamic. The metal yarns she employs help to shape the surfaces, in fact hers are not only tapestries, but real works of contemporary art! In addition to unique pieces, the workshop also produces very soft pashminas in cashmere and cotton.
