Peter Trojer is a skilled woodcarver, living and working in Courmayeur. Driven by curiosity, he approached and became passionate about this truly unique, living material, with endless possibilities and impossible to fully conquer.
In 2002 he opened his workshop inside a carpentry studio, where for a few years he made custom furniture: the craft fascinated him so much that he never left it since. At the same time he also discovered wood carving and sculpting, and he started crafting statues, decorative objects and artworks, both small and large. His favourite subjects are animals and human figures, his style is simple and ironic: his creations are the result of continuous experimentation and deep knowledge of wood and its features, combined with a great love and respect for the material. He recently started to incorporate iron in his artworks, thus balancing these two elements, so different but with many similar qualities.
