Maurizio Stagni is a goldsmith, illustrator and all-round creative artist: his atelier in Via degli Artisti in Trieste is a multifunctional location that, according to need, becomes a workshop, exhibition gallery and venue for cultural events and concerts.
Maurizio began his activity as a goldsmith in 1976. Over the years, he has hosted many young people in his workshop, to whom he has taught the basics of the trade.
His works range from goldsmithing to the visual arts, united by the common thread of research and experimentation, while inspiration comes from the city of Trieste, its history and well-known characters, but also from the world of fairytales.
The crafter first brings his ideas to paper, then shapes them to create small precious objects, each with a unique story to tell, created from the customers’ needs and interpreting their wishes. In his brooches, rings and earrings, his attention to design and his skill in drawing are clearly visible. Playful, fun lines and attention to detail are the essential and distinctive elements of his production.

Maurizio is a person of great genius and sensitivity. Each one of his projects starts with an idea, that he then translates into design, and from the design it takes a thousand and one forms. He loves music, theatre, poetry, and all these arts “blow”, like the Bora wind, in his jewellery, which are full of life!
