Il Bussetto is a Florence-based atelier creating exclusive leather and hide items. Giuseppe Fanara established it in 1989 and, over the years, he collaborated with the best fashion designers worldwide, like Giorgio Armani, Issey Miyake and Dolce&Gabbana.
Following the ancient tradition of Florentine “cuoietto”, Fanara and son are modelling top quality leather on wooden moulds, pasting components with a vegetal glue conferring stiffness and high resistance to their seamless artefacts. Boxes, purses and other fashion accessories are made with great attention to details and painted in various hues with natural pigments mixed with water. Finally, they are burnished with the “bussetto”, the hot-metal tool which is run on the leather surface for a glossy finish.
