Ateliergk was established in Florence in 2010 by Lapo Giannini and Michiko Kuwata, two artisans born into artists’ families, with a twenty-year experience in art bookbinding and restoration as well as luxury decorative items.
In their atelier, they create objects harking back to the Florentine tradition, from artistic binding and hand-made paper for books up to pieces of furniture for writing desks, with top-quality materials such as Florentine leather and gold leaf. Their tailor-made creations are made in accordance with the client’s tastes and needs, including customised decorations and finishes.
Each object is a unique artwork, the result of a tradition that is passed on from one generation to the next and is renewed over time thanks to ongoing research and experimentation.
