For almost a hundred years La Mastro Giorgio of Gubbio has been synonymous with fine ceramics. In the early twentieth century the Biagioli family inherited this precious tradition, which it has continued with a passion.
The workshop produces hand-made majolica ceramics on red clay, decorated in patterns and colours based on the local tradition that dates back to the Renaissance, with the characteristic patina obtained after a third firing. The expert ceramicists are able to produce extremely large pieces for interior and exterior spaces, as well as pieces for domestic use.
Today La Mastro Giorgio ceramics are well-known and appreciated worldwide, and the workshop is a point of reference for countless contemporary artists and designers.

I worked with Paolo Biagioli on the occasion of the first edition of “Doppia Firma”, in 2016. I appreciated his ability to interpret the project and his expertise in making, entirely by hand, a series of bowls, jars and jugs. Then he made an outstanding luster finish on the same pieces: a very complex technique that creates metalic and iridescent reflections.
