The story of  Ceramiche Lega started in 1950, when Leandro Lega, Carla’s father and teacher, started the well-known factory. Carla took over the family business in 1975, joining the Faenza scene and making herself known, as well as for her important artistic heritage, for her expertise in craftsmanship. Since the 1990s she has taken part in many personal and collective exhibitions, obtaining several awards and prizes. Today Carla, in the same historical workshop, creates ceramic objects for the kitchen, home furnishing and interior decoration. Her language stands out for the use of “lustro di riduzione”, a technique that gives a metal chromatic effect to surfaces, and for paper bag modelling: a continuous quest for new shapes and with a singular lightness. Today, the workshop is carried on by Carla’s daughter, Martina, who, together with her mother, keeps experimenting new techniques and mantaining a hight level of quality.

Carla Lega is a great ceramist who, with talent and humbleness, has carried on the important teachings of her father, and finally shaped them in personal ways. Her lustre ceramics with iridescent shades are always new and original, and they tell the wonders of pottery and its multiple and outstanding possibilities.
