Ornella Bijoux is a small craft company founded in Milan in 1944 by Piera Albani. The activity continued through the talent of Piera’s daughter Maria Vittoria and today is managed by her granddaughter Simona Scala, the third generation. The atelier creates vintage and contemporary jewellery in original compositions of metal and Venetian stones, hand-painted ceramics, crystals, beads and shells but also in enamel, cord, leather and feathers used with great liberty, elegance and balance. The atelier has collaborated with many leading fashion houses such as Celine, Swarovski, and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2000 Ornella Bijoux was listed by the Municipality of Milan as one of the city’s Historical Workshops. Maria Vittoria Albani was also awarded the accolade MAM – Maestro d’Arte e Mestiere.

In this large atelier in Milan, visitors will find boxes full of beads, jaiettos, rhinestones and crystals, and everything related to jewellery making, threads and clasps included. With these items, highly skilled artisans create incredible pieces, also on request. The jewels are often hand-enamelled in the workshop. Recently some museums, such as the Museum of Jewellery in Casalmaggiore and Palazzo Reale in Milan, displayed works by Ornella Bijoux in important exhibitions, thus demonstrating the excellence of the atelier.
