Sibania is a family-run ceramic factory, specializing since 1980 in the artisanal production of porcelain figurines and dolls. Over the years, the company has developed a signature manufacturing process which makes each product a unique piece, all the while preserving the original prototypes: starting from single body-part moulds, the figurine is then assembled by hand and all the finishing details are singularly hand-modeled. Clothes and hair are crafted with an innovative technique inspired by the traditional processing of Capodimonte’s tulle: that’s why all Sibania products also bear the “Capodimonte” mark. The sweetness and smoothness of the figurines’ traits, alongside the detailed decorations and realistic facial expressions, which give a unique gaze and personality to each character, are all distinctive qualities of Sibania’s creations.

It is said that we were born from a divine breath on soft clay, and perhaps Sibania draws from this very anecdote the inspiration for its collections: porcelain figurines characterized by a piercing gaze, peach cheeks, braided or loose hair, sometimes flowing in the wind, gracious hands hinting to a gentle movement, as if they were about to tell you a story through body language. Sibania’s sculptures are alive: they look at you, they move through space and they smile at each other with complicity. The plastic rendition technique applied to laces and fabrics, actually worn by the figurines, draws inspiration from the ancient Capodimonte tradition, widespread in our territory for over a century, but I have rarely seen such natural and elegant pieces.
