Barbara Uderzo is a goldsmith and jewellery designer, working between Vicenza and Milan, where she founded her studio “The Blob House”. Since 1990 she designs and creates contemporary jewels, experimenting with a wide range of techniques, materials and styles. Balancing research and innovation, artisanal techniques and industrial technologies, all the while boasting great experience in the field, she creates innovative and unexpected jewels like her “succulent rings”, rings which need watering, like plants, or the “blob” collection, created using polymer plastic compounds as colourful coatings for figurines, objet trouvè, stones and miniatures which are then incorporated in a precious metal structure. Her works have been showcased at Milan’s Triennale as well as at Berlin’s Museum of Decorative Arts, London’s Victoria & Albert Museum and Vicenza’s Jewellery Museum.

Barbara is a designer, an artisan, an artist, a creative! She creates jewels and tiny sculptures by using precious and non-precious stones, merging plastic materials with silver, juxtaposing colours and shapes and making elements from our childhood into extremely valuable miniatures. She works like a tailor, from designing to fitting: each jewel needs to be balanced and comfortable to wear, thus the client is the centrepiece of her research. Unique in terms of genre and for the multifaceted use of materials, she is worldwide famous and has showcased her pieces in the most important design museums. Her line of jewels made of chocolate and golden leaf deserves a notable mention: wear and taste them before they melt!
