“Venezia su Misura (Venice Made to Measure). Craft Shopping Guide” is a paperback guide showcasing a selection of 50 craft workshops located in Venice: a journey through the forges and ateliers, both historical and contemporary, nestled deep within the canals, the “sestieri” (districts) and the islands of the Lagoon.
Thanks to Dario Garofalo’s previously unpublished and original photographs, the book offers an immersive experience in the world of Venetian high craftsmanship, telling its tale through faces, stories and great works of art: from glassmaking to jewellery, from decoration to gondolas, masks and textiles, as well as bespoke tailoring and shoe-making. A must-have guide for all beauty-lovers and for those who are gifted with the taste, time and desire to discover one of Italy’s most charming and authentic cities.
A project commissioned by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship and the Cologni Foundation for the Métiers d’Art, brought to life by the publisher Gruppo Edioriale. The volume expands the “su misura” (made to measure) series, devoted to beauty, already boasting titles dedicated to cities such as Milan and Florence, as well as the guide “Italia su misura” (Italy Made to Measure), which features a selection of 100 among the best Italian craft workshops (www.italia-sumisura.it).
The guide is available in Venice’s most prestigious hotels and book stores, in the best bookshops throughout Italy and on the major online shopping platforms.
