Egidio Milesi is an extremely versatile and creative master ceramist.
He founded in Milan, together with his brother Cesare, his ceramic atelier and his brand Ceramiche Milesi, in 1981.
In his workshop, which is today located in Via Lucania, he creates unique ceramic pieces by using different techniques: he works on the wheel, shapes the clay in slabs or “colombini” (coils), or even by casting; and these are only a few of the many processings that he uses to realize his artworks, being them made with terracotta, majolica, stoneware or porcelain.
He often works with designers or architects, conceiving and creating a great variety of objects: from plates to pots, from bottles to frames, from bowls to centrepieces, which all stand out for their contemporary and minimalist style, as well as for their functionality, which is an aspect, together with the aesthetic result, that is never overlooked.
After moulding his artefacts, he completes them by applying colour brushstrokes, engobe, glazing, or simple by leaving them first-fired.
