Vittorio Villa was born in Monza in 1961. After graduating in violin from Bergamo’s Conservatorio G. Donizetti, he also achieved a luthier’s diploma at Istituto Internazionale di Liuteria in Cremona in 1989.
For five years, he taught violin and string instruments set-up in the same Institute, while also thoroughly studying the acoustics of string instruments. As an expert player and student, he has become a highly appreciated luthier thanks to the sound and workmanship of his instruments.
For over 20 years, he has been sharing a Cremona-based workshop with his brother Marcello, who specialises in a different range of products and services.
Despite successfully taking part in several string instrument making contests, in 1997 Vittorio Villa decided to devote himself solely to his creations, giving up any other initiatives. Nowadays, the violins bearing his signature are great favourites with professional violin players and prestigious orchestras worldwide.
