Born in Naples in 1957, Raffaele Antonelli inherited his passion and talent for sewing from his mother Giuseppina Marrazzo, a celebrated dressmaker for the San Carlo Theatre.
At the age of 12, he began his apprenticeship working in the most famous tailor shops in Naples, in order to acquire extensive experience and to learn new techniques. In 1985, he opened his first tailor shop: he had to make great sacrifices, but was aware of the know-how he had acquired and of the strength of his passion.
Today, his atelier is appreciated internationally for the high quality of its clothes. The fabrics are chosen and handpicked among thousands of fabrics available worldwide. As he says, “the only way to make unique a dress that is already perfect is to create it with exclusive cuts”.
He is currently a member and the delegate for the Campania Region, of the National Academy of Tailors. He is also involved in educational projects, which contain great social content.
