Antonio Marchese is a young instrument maker specialised in the construction of classical guitars and the restoration of plucked instruments. Following his studies at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan, he attended workshops held by the maestro Enrico Bottelli. He also collaborated as constructor and restorer for important exhibitions and events, including “Monteverdi e Caravaggio. Sonar stromenti e figurar la musica” at the Violin Museum in Cremona and the “Le Mani Sapienti” project held at the Castello Sforzesco in Milan and promoted by the Fondazione Antonio Carlo Monzino. Today he teaches at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan and his workshop in Montafia is dedicated to the construction of instruments of his own design and also copies of historical guitars and the repair and set-up of modern instruments.
