Antracite Gioielli is a workshop dedicated to goldsmithing and gemstone processing, located in Gorizia. Here, since 1990, they have been practising the ancient art known as Opus Sectile, a kind of pietra dura inlay: a fine craft technique where fragments of coloured stone are fitted together to form a mosaic of sorts.
The studio applies this technique to contemporary jewellery, thus creating striking rings, necklaces and earrings. The juxtaposition and combination of the veining, chromaticism and natural streaks of the stones that make up the mosaic give rise to truly distinctive shimmers and stunning designs. Finally, the use of opal, with its wonderful iridescence, lends a special light to Antracite’s jewels: a magical aura of sorts, that makes them look like wearable rainbows.
The meticulous handcrafted workmanship ensures that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind and timeless.

Sergio's jewellery seems to have come from outer space, because it seems impossible that such colours could spring from earthly stones! He manages to work with semi-precious stones on tiny surfaces, with impeccable technical skill. He juxtaposes stones and opals, creates galaxies and luminous worlds, all mounted on absolutely contemporary and exclusively designed jewellery.
