In 1988 Sergio Paolin And Oriella Guarise, after years of learning the trade working in a historical local paper mill, decided to open Arbos, near Vicenza, specializing right away in the production of recycled paper (also implementing other recycled materials) office supplies, gifts and décors. Their creations are not just mere objects, but rather clean slates full of potential, places to write, create and design ideas – a metaphor which speaks for the company’s core values: quality design, made in Italy, creativity and traditional artisanal know-how, with an eye for sustainability. In fact, Arbos’ passion for quality paper making and environmental protection led them to be one of the very few companies to achieve the B Corp certificate. Arbos collaborates with renowned designers and artists in order to create sustainable products with a keen eye for creative and artistic value.

Sergio and Oriella decided to turn their life philosophy into a business project: the passion for design and the love for the Earth are the main guidelines for all the Arbos’ products. Completely hand processed, the production focuses on stationery as well as interior design decors such as lamps, candy dishes and tiny sculptures, always and rigorously made in recycled paper. Research is continuously evolving, also thanks to the collaboration between Arbos and Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, based on researching and promoting artisanal paper-making; this is a craft that has very ancient roots in Vicenza’s territory, which reached its peak in the area of Bassano del Grappa thanks to the Remondini family’s entrepreneurial and commercial efforts, and favoured by the Venice’s Republic Senate during the 1700s. Our territory is rich in ancient paper mills, nowadays transformed into museums or workshops where you can learn the ancient art of paper making, and Arbos is the heir and innovator of this heritage.
