Bianca Bassi’s atelier is located in the heart of the old city of Milan, close to the Darsena. There, she carries forward her glassmaking activity, shaping stained-glass windows in classic and modern style. She started her career as a graphic designer, but quickly developed a passion for decorative arts, specialising in painting on furnace-fired glass with enamels and grisaille. Nowadays, she also applies glass fusing and Tiffany techniques on most of her works.
Lately, she has been experimenting on glass recycling: her aim is to revive objects through novel shapes and applications. Furthermore, she restores ancient stained-glass windows with pictorial interventions.
Her 20-year long experience, along with her knowledge of painting and melting techniques have led her to create an entirely new, personal technique to represent the world of glass-making. Beyond her production activity, she also gives educational courses about this ancient art.

Ero in possesso di una controfinestra inizio '900 appartenuta a mia nonna e volevo utilizzare i vetri soffiati in modo alternativo. Bianca Bassi mi ha proposto 3 diversi assemblaggi/composizioni per trasformare il tutto in un piano per un grande tavolo che posizionerò nel giardino della mia nuova casa al mare. Mio marito ed io siamo davvero entusiasti del risultato e l'incontro con Bianca è stato davvero piacevole e ricco di novità.
