Chiara Lancellotti is a luthier specializing in stringed instruments.
In her lutherie workshop in the heart of Brescia, founded in 2019, she devotes herself to making and repairing musical instruments, particularly violas and violins.
Passionate about music since childhood, Chiara studied violin and attended Brescia’s conservatory. She went on to study in Parma, graduating in Science and Technologies for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. Meanwhile, she approached artistic lutherie attending “Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria” (International Lutherie School) in Parma, under the guidance of masters Renato Scrollavezza, Elisa Scrollavezza and Andrea Zanrè.
After graduating, for a few years she worked as an apprentice in Cremona. Finally, she opened her own business in her home town.
In her work, she draws inspiration from the great luthiers of the past, but always expressing her personal style. She also provides horsehair replacements and performs minor repairs on bows.
