Cristiano Pagnini is one of Italy’s best-known master goldsmiths.
His works, on the fine line between art and jewellery, can be worn as jewels or admired as full-blown sculptures. Without relying on preparatory sketches, he tackles his material with ancient techniques, giving free rein to spontaneous creativity, thus achieving unexpected results: bold, dramatic shapes, also evoking harmony and glamour. His unique style is characterised by an organic approach, with the marks of his working process appearing on the surface of his creations as the author’s signature.
The restoration of the tabernacle in Cagliari’s Cathedral, dating back to the 17th century, and the creation of a chalice in gold and precious stones for Pope Benedict XVI are among the most important orders he was entrusted with over the years.
