Elena Rosso was born in Savona in 1969, where she attended the Art School before engaging in the art of glassmaking, which she studied in the ancient Altare tradition, under the guidance of master Isidoro Bormioli. In 1993, she moved to Murano, where she took an internship at Vetreria Gino Cenedese, later followed by a course at Antica Vetreria Fratelli Toso, allowing her to passionately learn the secrets and ancient techniques of furnace glass blowing and glass fusing.
Now, in her workshop in Finalborgo, she creates bright, colourful objects in glass, featuring insertions of large murrine or fine filigrees. Beside glass blowing, she also creates lampwork glassware, shaping pearls, pendants and earrings. She is also engaged in an intense educational activity, offering courses on how to realise lamp-blown or blown pearls, both for beginners and experienced artisans.

Her works are made with great skill and they are characterised by irony. Her Chocolate Pendants, for instance, perfectly replicate the finest creations of the maîtres chocolatiers and they can be worn like sugary pearls.
