Giacomo Moor, a young Milanese designer and carpenter, produces custom-made furniture and furnishing accessories. His pieces are created for private clients as well as for design companies in search of tailor-made objects. The entire production process takes place in Moor’s workshop: from the initial concept and design, which takes place on the upper floor, to the creation of finished pieces on the ground floor. Bookcases, kitchen furniture, beds and wooden accessories are unique thanks to the refined joint technique, a time-honoured feature of the art of cabinetmaking. Giacomo Moor uses a wide variety of wood species, but also relies on recycled materials, which he transforms into new and useful objects. His passion for wood matured during his university years. At that time, he was regularly attending a craftman’s workshop, while his passion for design was becoming deeper and deeper at the Milan Politecnico. Thus Giacomo’s idea was born: not only designing, but above all creating with his own hands single objects or limited series. These objects’ real added value is the handmade aspect.
