Girotto Cornici is a traditional Milan-based workshop specialised in made-to-measure picture frames made from precious materials for the most exacting of clients such as collectors, gallery owners, artists, antique dealers and museums. Skilled craftsmen carefully follow all phases in production, from initial design to the profiling, marquetry work and gilding; all phases are rigorously completed by hand following centuries-old techniques of gilding with gold leaf, lacquers, faux-marble and wax-treated natural world. Clients can choose from over 300 models that can be personalised and covering five historical periods, from more antique styles to modern contemporary models. The workshop also carries out restoration work on frames, mirrors and other gilded objects as well as creating reproductions of old frames or specifically commissioned works.

Indeed, together with Paolo Girotto, we thought of creating “special” frames for “special” or significant works from private collections. Not only antique frames and reproductions of frames from various periods and skilfully created with unique craftsmanship but also one-off and custom-made pieces for the most refined and discerning collectors.
