Hugo Lejeune is a cabinetmaker and wood restorer.
He studied at École Boulle in Paris, where he graduated in cabinetmaking and inlay.
At the age of 23, he moved to Turin, where he took part in the “Bottega Scuola” project, funded by the Piedmont Region, working alongside a restorer and thus perfecting his skills in the field of furniture conservation. He then took over the business in 2017 and started his own entrepreneurial project.
In 2018 he received the “Eccellenza Artigiana” (Craft excellence) accolade from the Region, and started taking on trainees himself.
After 5 years of activity, he decided to move to Tuscany, in Licciana Nardi, in the province of Massa-Carrara. Here, he carries on his work, restoring wooden furnishings and artefacts, from antique furniture to design and modern pieces, using craft techniques for conservation purposes.
He also performs carpentry, inlay, wood-turning and sculpting work, as well as wick painting.
