Luisa Bagnasco is a Genoa-based ceramic artisan. After having lived in Caltagirone—the capital of artistic ceramicware — she discovered her passion for working in clay and started to following courses to acquire the rudiments of the craft. She continued her training in the atelier of maestro Nico Toniolo in Marostica where she specialised in the Raku technique and then went on to open her own laboratory near Verona. She perfected her decoration skills under the guidance of the French artist Anne-Sophie Gilloen. Using the Raku technique, she now creates furnishing elements and jewellery, decorative inserts for tables bringing together her great love for nature — her great source of inspiration —, for opaque and rough surfaces and minimalist and sometimes ironic forms.
