Letizia Bertone is a restorer specialized in the conservation of wood. After graduating in architecture in Turin, she studied wooden artefacts restoration in Florence, where she learned the techniques of Florentine conservative restoration and all its secrets, getting the chance to work on the extraordinary and unique pieces of furniture of Palazzo Pitti’s collection. After her workshop experience, she was left with the desire to open her own business, and soon enough her wish became a reality: in 2018 she opened her workshop “La Restauro”, in Turin, where today she restores antique furniture, provides gilding and silvering, and creates wooden objects on the lathe. Special attention is paid to the topic of sustainability: her studio is equipped with an air extraction and purification system for wooden particles, thus minimizing their environmental impact; the heating/cooling system is designed to limit emissions and energy waste and finally, since she mainly uses natural materials, waste can be managed in an eco-friendly way.
