Giorgio Amidei is a master carpenter and skilled decorator: with his project “Le Caterine”, he crafts lime tree spheres where he etches writings and elaborate designs, sometimes provided by the client himself, using the pyrography technique.
The motifs are engraved in spirals covering the whole sphere, while the serial number and a special dedication for the person who will receive the gift are carved on the bottom. The “Caterina” is then polished and finished with carnauba wax and is therefore an entirely natural product, the result of the combination of wood, fire and vegetable wax.
These are truly unique gifts, fully customizable down to the last detail: it’s possible to engrave love or friendship declarations, quotes from books or poems, but also personal memories, thus turning the customer into a co-author of the artefact. Giorgio’s “Caterine” are exclusive objects, handcrafted and produced in limited quantities.
