The Liuteria d’insieme project was launched in 2003 by two luthiers, Marco Golinelli and Stefano Zanderighi. They specialised in constructing and restoring different kinds of acoustic plucked instruments allowing for a broad range of services.
Their passion for music and the luthier’s art brought them together, giving their production a more direct appeal: thanks to their entirely handmade processing methods and thorough documentation, they can agree with clients on every detail, from the materials to be used to the final aesthetic choices.
The result of this process is a custom-made instrument meeting the requirements of each musician, a one-of-a-kind, unrepeatable piece. The instruments they realize for ancient music are based on historical models, and are preserved in museums all over the world.
The materials, construction techniques and varnishes are closely attuned to historical procedures: inlays, fillings and engravings receive the utmost attention. Maximum care for weight assessment during the construction phase ensures a certain performing ease. It also develops an instinctive bond between the instrument and the musician.
