Lorenzo Perrone was born in Milan, where he approached the arts and crafts world at Scuola del Libro della Società Umanitaria and Scuola di Pittura del Castello Sforzesco. His artistic education was continued in New York where he attended graphic art and cinema courses and worked in the field of communication.
An eclectic artist and a dedicated researcher, Perrone started his most successful experimentation in 2000, with Libri Bianchi (Pure-white Books), real books which are stripped of their literary contents and graphic looks, thus representing the book’s primordial essence. The artist, then, works on the white shapes, turning them into sculptures and installations with great visual impact, leading to a deeper reflection.
Perrone’s pure-white works have been showcased in important galleries, museums, bookshops and cultural events both in Italy and abroad.
