Luciano Petris is a skilful mosaicist from Friuli. In 1980, he opened his workshop in Codroipo, near Udine, after graduating from the well-known Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo. His production is extremely diverse: in his atelier, he designs and realises with his hands small or large scale artistic mosaics, furnishings, wide walls decorations and installations, of which he personally takes care of the placement. This is a meticulous craft process, made by using high quality and carefully selected materials, such as venetian enamels, marble and other stones, as well as more unusual elements.
He mainly draws inspiration from modern and contemporary art history: in fact, he made beautiful mosaics based on drawings and artworks of important artists, which are indeed highly appreciated. These pieces are often realized in collaboration with the artists themselves, as in the case of Christian Ludwig Attersee e Joze Ciuha.
The mosaicist’s works have been exhibited in Europe, in the United States and in Asia.
