Since 1481, Pescia, a Tuscan village near Pistoia, has been producing artisan paper.
After over 500 years, the Impresa Sociale Magnani Pescia is preserving and handing down to new generations this ancient art under the world-renowned Enrico Magnani Pescia brand.
Here, paper makers, filigree manufacturers, and sewers create top-quality paper sheets by hand, complying with traditional techniques.
Their savoir-faire is a unique cultural heritage, whose preservation creates both a financial and social value. The Impresa has been set up on a suggestion by Pescia’s Museo della Carta, hosting and preserving thousands of filigree items and the Archivio Storico Magnani inside a restored 18th-century paper-mill.
