After 20 years working as an architect, Cristina Serafini Sauli transformed her passion for jewellery into a brand: Matuta Gioielli. This brand was born from Cristina’s solid experience in creating jewellery and her in-depth knowledge of fashion and the luxury sector as well as an understanding of the history of design. Inspired by architecture, modern art, and sculpture and in particular the bronze furnishing elements of the designer Claude Lalanne, the jewellery of the stylist and designer Suzanne Belperron, and the fantasy world of Alexander Calder, Cristina creates unique pieces with a powerful and contemporary style. Her jewellery pieces are handcrafted and mainly made in bronze by the lost wax technique and embellished with semiprecious stones. These are all one-of-a-kind pieces that play with form, structure, and motifs that evoke natural elements alternated with imperfect geometry.

An admirer of the bronze furnishing elements of Claude Lalanne, the jewellery of Suzanne Belperron and the fantasy world of Alexander Calder, Cristina elaborates her creations to symbolise the supremacy of fantasy over the laws of physics. Matuta's creations are inspired by architecture, modern art, painting, and sculpture: her pieces embody a powerful nature that ironicises and plays on dimension and structure.
