Maria Aurora Manetti is a Florentine ceramist.
In her workshop in Bagno a Ripoli, just outside Florence, she mainly creates jewellery, but also ceramic sculptures and home furnishings, inspired by the elements of nature, in particular fruits and elements of the marine world.
A passion that she has been pursuing for over twenty years, and which she has decided to turn into a profession, by founding her brand of handmade bijoux Naturewit.
Each piece of the collection is handmade in her atelier, and consists of a ceramic body and a gold-plated brass base. Lemons, pomegranates, shells and starfish, embellished with beads and golden decorations, are the elements that make up her jewellery. They are all made in a contemporary and fresh style, just like the nature from which they are inspired. Her creativity is in fact stimulated by the magnificent Tuscan countryside and the gentle hills surrounding her workshop.
Maria Aurora employs traditional ceramic techniques, and personally designs her models before modelling them in clay.
