Patrizia Bonati is a goldsmith from Cremona. In her wrokshop she creates innovative and experimental jewels, mostly using gold declined in different shapes and forms, such as elastic threads and shaped sheets, crafted using swaging techniques. Patrizia personally forges a variety of metal alloys in different shades, while also privileging the use of white glaze finishing. Her signature style features unpolished surfaces with the addition of colouring and unique textures, which donate to her creations a sort of a primordial aura. Her jewels represent movement and transformation – two key concepts of hers: her initial design idea may shift and change, ending up making a necklace out of a bracelet, a broach out of an ear ring and so on. These original elements make her work extremely contemporary, while at the same time maintaining a strong connection with traditional goldsmith.
