The “Piccoli Mondi Rotondi” (Little Round Worlds) are the artistic creations of Orsola Poggi. Her hand-painted Christmas eggs and boules are based on a careful study of the subject and several preparatory drawings.
The collection of objects is part of ‘La camelia d’oro’, a small floricultural firm that she runs. This educational farm, guesthouse and nursery is located within Villa Anelli and Oggebbio, where the promotion of knowledge and protection of nature is achieved through various activities.
Orsola creates the Little Round Worlds on commission. Stories of cities, scenery and natural landscapes are painted and told on egg shells and Christmas boules. Each object is then placed on a pedestal, transforming it into a refined decorative element and a special gift for the recipient.Orsola Poggi has exhibited her unique, handcrafted products at various exhibitions and in the bookshops of important museums, such as the Museo del Novecento and MUDEC in Milan. Her achievements include winning the ‘Women for Expo’ competition in 2015, in collaboration with Di Donne, Confartigianato, Milan section, and first prize in the Ovopinto Competition in Civitella del Lago in 2017.
In addition to her work as an artist, Orsola Poggi also holds workshops on painting techniques on eggs, in schools and at events related to the promotion of nature.
