The Roccas are the longest-living family of goldsmiths in Sardinia, who has reached no fewer than six generations of filigree makers.
The family goldsmith workshop, RoccaPrendas, is located in the centre of Oristano and it is run by Giovanni Rocca: gold and silver jewellery has been produced here for decades, entirely handmade by Nanni and Pierluigi Rocca. All unique pieces, the result of know-how handed down from father to son, combined with accurate historical research.
In fact, they give life to real works of art in precious metals, using the filigree technique and other processes of Sardinian craftsmanship. Their production is based on traditional island motifs, including archaeological reproductions and historical revisitations, such as the “Ori di Tharros” (Tharros’ jewellery) collection; amulets and other scaramantic jewellery, dating from the 18th century onwards.
Their creations have been displayed in important exhibitions, and are part of the collections of the museums of the region. Their jewellery has been worn by renowned political and cultural players, and has been chosen for fashion shows and other events.
