themissingpiece.it is a contemporary mosaic workshop, founded in Udine in 2016 by Carola Rodolfi Kuball, with the intention to propose unique and precious products.
The mosaicist uses the pebble mosaic technique, which dates back to ancient Greece and was invented before the Roman marble tesserae mosaic.
These two processes are used and reinterpreted in a modern key to create panels and paintings, jewellery and interior decorations with a fresh, contemporary style.
Through the rediscovery of techniques and materials and her personal artistic research, Carola makes mosaic a contemporary art form, and a magical combination of light, texture and colour.
Her objects are made of 24-carat gold leaf mosaic, combined with pebbles, enamels, coloured and transparent glass, Venetian murrine and marble, or with different materials such as leather and metals; each element is hand-cut and the composition can be customised or created to suit the client’s needs and tastes.
