Vancali Tessiture Antiche is a weaving workshop where the techniques and know-how of the master weavers of Triolo, a beautiful village near Catanzaro, are still being handed down. Here they create scarves, hats and other clothing accessories, but mostly the traditional “vancali”, rectangular shawls made out of pure silk or cachemire.
Each garment is hand-weaved on wooden looms, using exquisite fabrics and accurately selected yarns.
The project was envisioned by Desirée Zinnà, who, passionate about traditional weaving, after learning this technique herself, founded this craft company with her husband.
To enter this workshop is like embarking on a journey back in time, threading the path of an evocative millenary history; a history that turns into contemporary innovation giving life to garments worthy of the most prestigious haute-couture runways.
