Iduna’s work is surprisingly perfect and harmonious, where the free-machine stitched decorations enhance the clothes on which they are applied. Hers is a pictorial work: through the juxtaposition of coloured threads she manages to render the nuances, volumes and dynamism of the subjects she embroiders. She doesn’t use only yarns, but also pearls and beads, Swarovski and other elements that make the treated surface three-dimensional. At first the work, from pictorial, takes on the connotations of a contemporary mosaic. Then as you look away, you realise that it is ‘only’ a fantastic detail of a dress, also made by her skilful hands!
